FLO'S APPLE CRUMBLE
INGREDIENTS:
4 oz butter (125 grams)
1 1/2 cup flour
1 cup coconut
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
Granny smith apples
(same recipie can be used with other fruit- peaches/rhubarb/berries/plums/apricots/pears etc.)
DIRECTIONS:
Rub butter, flour, coconut & brown sugar together with Baking powder.
Place fruit on bottom of oven dish.
Place crumble mix on top of fruit & press down to make firm.
Cook at 180*C for 1/2 hour.
Notes:
For a lovely nutty crunch, add chopped walnuts, sunflower seeds & almonds to the topping.
Makes a large crumble, rougly 200mm x 200mm but a smaller or larger dish can also be used.
Fruit such as peaches should be peeled, have the stones removed & be cut up before use.
Individual desserts can be created using individual ramekins.
When the tops of the crumble is golden brown, it is ready.
Takes roughly 15min.
Serve with custard, cream or ice cream.
