WARM CINNAMON APPLES

INGREDIENTS
2 apples cored and thinly sliced (fresh or frozen)
½ tsp vegan butter (optional)
1 tsp cinnamon
1 ½ tsp maple syrup
DIRECTIONS
If using fresh apples, cut them into quarters, remove the core, then slice thinly.
Preheat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter. *If you’re using frozen apple slices they will let out quite a bit of water as they cook so there’s no need for the butter.
If using butter, once it starts to sizzle add the apple slices to the skillet and stir. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently until nice and softened. If using frozen apple slices you can drain the liquid that is released if you’d like; but I like to keep it saucy. *If your skillet has a lid you can cover the apples to speed up the cooking time, stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle the cinnamon over the apples and stir until they are nicely coated. Drizzle the maple syrup and cook, stirring, for another minute or so.
Remove from heat and serve immediately. They are perfect on cereal, pancakes, desserts, or with ice cream.
